Why I'm Starting a Blog During Quarantine

Updated: Sep 8, 2021

Hello and welcome to Sharp and Sound Style!

At the end of 2019, I made a promise to myself to pursue more of my personal passions and this blog is a creative outlet for my style and lifestyle interests! In 2014, I started a blog with similar intentions and honestly, I allowed my career to take precedence over dedicating time to a blog.

While I had decided to pursue this creative outlet prior to the pandemic, I've been determined to take this unexpected "extra" time to explore the possibilities. While this time in the world has presented some challenges in creating content but it has been a chance lesson in creativity.

I understand there is a lot going on in the world right now and we are all finding ways to handle the uncertainty of the times. Yet even in the midst, I encourage you to take this unprecedented time to do something new even if it is learning how to relax (which is a thing too few of us know how to do).

I hope you will follow along as well as learn something interesting along the way. And I'm open to hear what you what to see in this space. Subscribe or follow along on Instagram!

Are there any new things you are trying during quarantine? Let me know below. Let's support each other in taking this time for trying new things! Stay safe.

Why Sharp and Sound?

Simply put, I love style and music so these two words encompass a lot about who I consider myself to be.

Sharp.

Chic.  Stylish.  Fly.  Bad.  My mother, Jacque, used the word "sharp" to describe her style and taste in clothing.  I inherited it.  She taught being sharp has nothing to do with money or access but an inherent style.  I figure out the rest.

Sound.

I can’t remember the exact moment it happened but my first memories of love are connected with music.  I’ve been dreaming it ever since.  I love music.  I love singing it, writing it, and writing about it.  It is a universal language and I’m just here to speak it.
